Reflections on TEE 276 Week 1

Class was awesome today. I was really impressed with the general style and methods of teaching employed by Geoff, just as much as the teaching theory that we covered in class. The discussion regarding having directly implicit activities that are designed to accomplish a purpose rather than just to keep the class happy and busy was really quite cool. I don't even need to describe it, I'll just say it was about Eskimo's looking for Caribou.

However, what I learned most from class today was how important it is to know your students. I was so impressed that Geoff learned all of our names in such a short period of time. The very fact that he cared to remember them says a lot about his teaching style and philosophy.

I am excited for all the stuff I'm going to be doing in this major.
